Job Summary: Lead and drive commercial strategies to maximize business growth, partnerships, and profitability in marine logistics and beyond.
Purpose: The Commercial Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, market insight, and the ability to build and manage client relationships. As this is a newly established role, the Commercial Manager will also lay the foundation for commercial functions, systems, and teams aligned with Santan Prima Bahari’s business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commercial Strategy & Planning
- Develop short and long-term commercial strategies aligned with company goals.
- Identify new business opportunities and revenue streams.
- Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and pricing strategies.
2. Business Development & Client Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Lead commercial negotiations, proposals, and contracts.
- Explore partnership opportunities in shipping, logistics, and related industries.
3. Revenue & Performance Management
- Set sales and revenue targets; monitor and report on performance.
- Collaborate with finance and operations to ensure profitable project execution.
- Monitor commercial KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Operations, Legal, Finance, and HR to support project execution.
- Represent the company in external events, client meetings, and negotiations.
5. Team & System Development (as function grows)
- Build and manage a commercial team as needed.
- Establish workflows, CRM systems, and commercial SOPs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years experience in commercial or business development roles, ideally in logistics, maritime, or mining sectors.
- Proven success in managing high-value clients and deals.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
