Job Summary:
The Marine Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of vessel engines and mechanical systems. This role involves conducting routine inspections, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and executing repairs or overhauls as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of vessel engines and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and conduct effective troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Execute engine overhauls and component replacements according to technical standards.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of all maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and operational procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimun Diploma (D3) in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in marine machinery maintenance (experience with diesel engines preferred).
- Strong knowledge of vessel engine systems, mechanical components, and troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals in English.
- Proficient in using mechanical tools and diagnostic instruments.
- Physically fit, disciplined, and willing to work in a vessel/engine room environment.
- Having a valid passport is preferred.
